Lots of affecting tributes, especially from hitherto anonymous beneficiaries of her philanthropy, like the African American musician who says he didn’t know till he got to college that school fund raisers for band were practically a universal phenomenon, because “Dolly Parton paid for us.”

But maybe my favorite goes to “William Shakespeare,” the name under which a social media account posts a daily quote from Shakespeare’s collected works. Today’s was probably the first time the entry was a mere stage direction:
